Canine Health Care

“Man’s best friend” can live a long and healthy life with you because of good canine health care. We believe good canine health care starts with wellness care. All dogs should undergo a complete wellness exam at least once a year. Wellness exams include a physical exam, customized vaccine schedules that reflect your dog’s individual needs, proper food/nutrition and screening tests for medical issues such as heartworm, lyme disease, and intestinal parasites. Frequent routine exams help us identify and treat diseases quickly.

The annual exam provides an opportunity for you to discuss your dog’s health with one of our veterinarians. Our veterinarians are available to discuss everything from dental care, arthritis and nutrition to immunizations, lifestyle changes, and any other topics of concern.

Developing a comprehensive health profile

Most importantly, we do a complete examination of your pet which allows us to develop a comprehensive health profile for your dog. This information aids us in future treatment and helps us identify medical problems at an early stage, before they develop into serious conditions that are difficult and expensive to treat.

We see a variety of dog medical problems, but the most common complaints include:

  • Ear infections or problems
  • Fleas
  • Skin problems: itchy skin, hair loss, allergies
  • Dental problems
  • Increased drinking
  • Loss of appetite or decreased appetite
  • Abnormal urinating
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Sneezing/coughing
  • Limping
  • Difficulty rising, walking or climbing stairs
  • Cuts or wounds that are not healing
  • New lumps or bumps

If you notice your dog exhibiting any of these symptoms, please call us as soon as you can to arrange for an appointment with us.
